Q Grader Course – Chicago
Tailwind Roasting is proud to host Chicago’s first full Q Grader Course and Exam, taught by instructor Todd Arnette.
Over six full days of lectures, cuppings, sensory training, and exams, participants develop the competencies required to assess coffee using the SCA Coffee Value Assessment (CVA) system, and if succesful, their Q Grader License.

💲 Tuition:$1,800 total
👥 Capacity: Limited to 18 students
This course includes six full days of instruction, practice sessions, cuppings, and exam administration. Participants should arrive with prior cupping experience and familiarity with sensory evaluation of roasted and/or green coffee.

Todd brings more than 30 years of experience in coffee education, quality control, and curriculum development. As a Q Instructor, SCA AST, and former Manager of Q Programs at CQI, Todd has trained thousands of coffee professionals worldwide. His teaching style emphasizes clarity, real‑world application, and building evaluator confidence.
