Loring Roasting Intensive with Rob Hoos – Chicago

Tailwind Roasting is hosting a three day Loring Roasting Intensive, taught by roasting educator, consultant, and author Rob Hoos.

Designed specifically for coffee professionals roasting on, or preparing to roast on, a Loring, this hands on course combines technical instruction, roasting, and sensory evaluation to help participants better understand how to deliberately control the machine and connect roasting decisions to what ends up in the cup.

Course Details

📅 Dates: October 5–7, 2026

Time: 8:00am–5:00pm daily

📍 Location: Tailwind Roasting, Chicago

💲 Tuition: $1,500 total‍ ‍

👥 Capacity: Limited to 10 students

Over three full days, participants will work directly on a Loring through hands-on roasting sessions, structured tastings, and technical instruction. Each day includes 2–3 hours of roasting and approximately one hour of tasting, with lunch included.
